MYHA is excited to offer this program again after 8 years of tremendous participation and feedback.

We are fortunate to have Scott Steffen and his staff from Steffan Hockey preparing the 6U, 8U, Mites, Squirts, PeeWees and Bantams for upcoming season. Steffen Hockey has been a staple in the hockey training world for years. The company started in 2001 and has risen to one premier training programs in the state. Steffen Hockey (sportngin.com)

The Mites, 6U, and 8U groups will also have 3 sessions with Russ Barons of Dynamic Hockey. 

Additionally, we are excited to welcome back Justin Johnson of M.E.G.A. Goaltending to help with 10 hours of clinics for our MYHA Goalies. MEGA Programs have been designed to develop and refine a goaltender’s skills in a challenging and purposeful environment.  Players will get small group instruction to help them hone their game prior to evaluations.  MEGA GOALTENDING – develop & refine a goaltender’s skills

 Note: 

• These camps are not a Learn to Skate Program, and the goalie camp is not designed for first time goalies.  Players should have a minimum of 1-2 years of skating experience and previous goalie experience. 
• MYHA Squirt September Skate will be eight hours of ice in September with each hour following a format of 20 minutes of skating and skills and 40 minutes of full-ice five-on-five scrimmage with goalies. Coaches will blow whistle for shift changes and offsides. The goal of this format is to allow skaters moving up from mites to become more familiar with the full-ice game and offsides rule before tryouts. It will also give second-year squirts a chance to tune up their skills, game timing and decision making for a month leading into evaluations.
• To ensure no more than three lines and two goalies per team for the scrimmage component, the MYHA Squirt September Skate will be limited to the first 60 skaters and eight goalies (30 skaters and four goalies per hour) to sign up. Parents are free to sign up their skater for either group.
• In addition to MEGA instruction, all goalies are invited to attend the scrimmage sessions for Squirt, PeeWee and Bantam levels at no charge. A separate email with a signup genius will be sent to goalie families to participate.
