ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE RECOGNITION EVENT - Thursday, February 6, 2020
ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE GOAL
To encourage and reward student athletes who commit themselves to their schoolwork and maintain good grades while participating in and enjoying the sport of travel hockey.
CRITERIA FOR QUALIFICATION
All athletes, grades 6 – 9, with a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or above during second quarter are eligible to participate. If there is a failing or incomplete grade, the student does not qualify.
4th-5th grade students do not receive letter grades, but are eligible to participate if they are playing at the Squirt/U10 level. The student’s report card should indicate that homework is consistently complete and on-time and that the student is academically secure.
T-Shirts: This year, instead of filling out an academic excellence form, team managers will compile a list of all their athletes who qualify with their t-shirt size and e-mail it to Kristen Appert at kristenappert@yahoo.com. T-shirt sizes are Youth Medium, Large, and XL and Adult, Small, Medium, Large, Xlarge, or 2Xlarge.
ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE RECOGNITION EVENT AT THE BOYS VARSITY HOCKEY GAME:
Students who qualify for Academic Excellence will be allowed free admission, with a paying adult, to the the Thursday, February 6, 2020 boys 7:30 varsity hockey game vs. Breck at St. Croix Rec Center. All students must wear their Academic Excellence shirt to gain free admission, with a paid adult.
No separate recognition event will be held.
