SafeSport Information

USA Hockey SafeSport

The USA Hockey SafeSport Program was developed in conjunction with the United States Olympic Committee (“USOC”) and is designed to prevent abuse and maximize the safety of our participants in the off-ice environment. The SafeSport Training is part of the Program and is intended to heighten awareness of those that are in supervisory positions over youth participants in our game.

For the 2015-16 season, all coaches and managers will need to have current certification of their SafeSport Training; also, we strongly encourage locker room monitors as well as all other members to complete the training. The SafeSport Training is valid for 2 seasons. Therefore, if you took the training in 2014-15, you do not need to do anything this year. However, if you took it in 2013-14 a shorter “refresher” course is now available and must be completed before the season begins.IF you have never completed the Safesport training video, you will need to complete the full course.

The training is available at no cost. The training was produced by the USOC and is comprised of short video segments that take approximately 90 minutes to complete; however, not all training needs to be completed in one session. You will need your USA Hockey Member Number, which can be obtained at (under Member Options, click on ‘Request Duplicate Registration Confirmation).

Information on how to register and access the SafeSport Training can be found on the USA Hockey website

Please be sure to select the USA Hockey SafeSport course as there are multiple courses available. The website also has links if you have questions about the training or on registering for the training.

All coaches and managers who need to complete the SafeSport online training or refresher course, if you took the full in 2013, need to do this no later than November 1, 2015.

Once completed, email a copy of your completion certificate to:
