How, you ask?
Rink Rat 2011-2012 will have modified hours to qualify. Every skater must skate a minimum of 30 hours. Rink Rat started in October when the season began and will end when the DEC closes for the season.
Rink Rat is a supplemental program to reward players who want the challenge of skating more hours then they are scheduled. The number of hours may be challenging for some which is why this program isn't mandatory.
Some ways of earning these hours include:
1. Open skating
2. Open hockey (The Lumberyard and St. Croix Arena are a couple close rinks that have this)
3. Anyone's back yard rink
4. Optional team practices
5. Goalie Clinics
6. 3 on 3 Leagues
7. District Center Rinks/Birchwood - or any rink!
What happens if I do it?
Way to Go! - You are an Official Mahtomedi Rink Rat
You will be given a Mahtomedi Rink Rat T-shirt at your team’s end of the year banquet.
Caution: This should not in any way interfere with your school work!
There is a Rink Rat log at the top of the page for you to keep track of your hours.

We are looking for sponsors for the Rink Rat shirts that are given out free to players who earn their rink rat hours by the end of February. Remember over 150 players between 4 and 15 will be wearing your logo on their shirts all over the town!
